Well done to Site Manager, Stephen Harold of ANG Artelia Group, who achieved 100% on HSE Audits of his South Lodge project for two successive months. A great achievement on a difficult and constrained site. Mark Day was delighted to hand over an Amazon Voucher to Stephen in the Holborn office this morning in recognition of his efforts.
South Lodge is a Grade II listed gate house to the Grim’s Dyke Estate in Harrow, which runs as a hotel and conference centre. Built in 1870 and designed by notable Victorian architect Richard Norman Shaw – who became famous for his gothic-inspired schemes – the brick-built gatehouse was seriously damaged by a fire in April 2020 which destroyed almost all of its roof, first floor and interior.
ANG Artelia Group was appointed to oversee the lodge’s full repair and restoration, beginning with remnant stabilisation, clearance, survey, design and planning approval, all of which formed the enabling works phase beginning in mid-July 2020. Main construction works started in November 2020 and the project is due to complete in mid September.
