Mark Day, Managing Director

A Member of the Chartered Institute of Building, Mark’s career has seen him undertake projects throughout the UK, mainland Europe, the USA and Dubai. He has vast experience leading the delivery of large multi-site programmes, including being part of the leadership team on the Pan-European Artelia Shell Programme.

As Managing Director of Artelia UK, Mark has set a clear direction for the strategic growth of the UK business, with a strong focus on our graduate programme and building expertise and future leaders from within the business.

Tim Norton
Tim Naughton, Director

Tim is responsible for developing our work within the Private Sector and is also the Board Champion for our Young Professionals Network, supporting younger team members to develop their careers within Artelia.

A Chartered Civil Engineer who has managed projects and programmes throughout the UK and in many other European countries, Tim has worked within Artelia Group for more than 20 years, initially on the Hotels at Disneyland Paris. Tim now manages a team specialising in Project, Cost and Construction Management for Hotels, Leisure and other commercial projects.

Ian bailey
Ian Bailey, Director

Ian is our Public Sector Lead. He is also responsible for Artelia’s Graduate Recruitment Programme and Project Management Excellence initiative which has taken the company to Accredited status of the APM for its Project Management Development Programme. Ian is a Non-Executive Director of SECBE (the South East arm of Constructing Excellence), a not-for-profit organisation which drives positive change in the construction industry.

Ian is a Chartered Civil Engineer, Registered European Engineer, Registered PRINCE2 Practitioner and Fellow of the Association for Project Management.

Gurdeep Sahotay
Gurdeep Sahotay, Finance Director

Artelia’s strong commercial performance owes much to the financial management and controls implemented by Gurdeep since she joined the company in 2016. A qualified chartered accountant with extensive experience working in corporate finance, Gurdeep is responsible for working with the Board to set and monitor robust performance targets and provide financial certainty through effective reporting and controls. She joined the Artelia Board in 2020 and is responsible for developing new initiatives focused on improving commercial acumen within the business and underpinning the development of business units to optimise financial strength and support the growth strategy.

Gurdeep has extensive experience of working within change environments to SOX compliant standards.

Matt Butine
Matt Buntine, Director

Matt Buntine is an Executive MBA Graduate and Chartered Civil Engineer experienced in leading complex estate development programmes in industrial, commercial and downstream oil and gas in Europe, Asia and Australia.

As lead for Artelia’s multi-site and programme management team for the past five years, Matt has been instrumental in developing new clients, improving our service offering, growing the team to over 40 strong and championing Artelia’s award-winning Mates in Mind, mental health awareness campaign. He was appointed to the Artelia UK Board in 2020 and is responsible for developing new initiatives focused on Our Values and Digitalisation. Matt’s key areas of interest are people development, sustainable engineering, leadership and change.
