Artelia has completed the first food-led retail proposition for Costa in the role of Project Manager.
The new Costa Fresco café based in central London will offer ‘oven-fresh’ food including ‘handcrafted’ ciabattas, pastries, cookies and flatbreads to appeal to the casual dining trend.
The store design features designated zones for relaxing and showcases freshly baked food prominently. Staff will bake and serve a new food menu, alongside Costa’s coffee range. The new menu comprises breakfast, lunch and light snack menu options and includes a Rustico Dry Cured Ham and Mature Cheddar Flatbread, Roasted Pork Belly with Caramelised Braeburn Apple and Onion Ciabatta and Citrus Chelsea Buns.
Mark Day, Director of Artelia comments:
“We were delighted to work on this innovative new concept for Costa, taking the brand to an exciting new level.”
Artelia is also working with Costa on its new eco-friendly roastery in Basildon, in the role of Project Manager, Quantity Surveyor and Construction Manager.
Basildon Council’s Planning Committee granted Costa planning permission for its £36 million investment in their state-of-the-art facility, with the intention of securing the Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology’s (BREEAM) “Outstanding” accreditation. The new roastery is scheduled to open in early 2017.
