In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Artelia Foundation1 has set-up an emergency fund of €100,000 to assist aid organisations that have found themselves in financial distress. The fund supports organisations globally, but in particular in countries where Artelia Group subsidiaries operate. When Artelia UK was asked to nominate an organisation to receive a portion of the fund, our people responded with a shortlist of five worthy charities which we have previously supported through our charity days and fundraising – Samaritans, Age UK Camden, Women’s Aid, Shelter and Sue Ryder. All of these organisations have been impacted by the pandemic but are continuing to provide a broad spectrum of compassionate care and support for those in need.
We were delighted to learn this week that the Foundation was so impressed by each of the nominations that Artelia UK has been allocated €10,000 of the fund to support Samaritans, Age UK Camden, Women’s Aid, Shelter and Sue Ryder. Vital support for these critical services in the fight against coronavirus and its impact on our communities.
1The Artelia Foundation is funded by a proportion of Artelia profits donated each year by the Group. It is dedicated to supporting social, environmental and humanitarian projects around the world. The cornerstone of the Foundation is skills-based volunteering. In return for the leave time that Group employees donate to an assignment, the Foundation builds and funds projects in conjunction with partner NGOs or associations.
