Under the theme “Accountability for personal safety“, Artelia UK marked the Group’s annual Global Safety Day on 14th March with presentations, workshops and activities aimed at getting people to question and debate their safety responsibilities at work, on projects and in their personal lives. We were also privileged to have Clive Johnson, Landsec’s Group Head of HSS, as a guest speaker, whose perspective on Why H&S is Important to clients highlighted how good health and safety practice is seen as an added value from consultants.
The exchanges enabled people to share their varied experiences and bring out some really good practices which we will be implementing across the business through our H&S Committee.
“Spending time thinking about safety like this is key to creating a safe working environment and really helps to build an inclusive and collaborative safety culture across all of our business units. It was an interesting day which really put the spotlight on recognising personal and project health and safety risks and how we can put effective controls in place to prevent harm from occurring.” said Paul Burrows, Artelia UK’s Head of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality.
