Artelia UK marked the Group’s annual Global Safety Day on 14th March with presentations, workshops and activities aimed at getting people to question and debate their safety responsibilities at work, on projects and in their personal lives. Representatives from across the company presented on safety issues that they have personally taken action on – preventing silica dust exposure on site and at home, mental health awareness and the importance of taking breaks, both physically and mentally.
The exchanges enabled people to share their varied experiences and bring out some really good practices which we will be implementing across the business through our H&S Committee.
“Thinking about safety like this is key to creating a safe working environment and really helps to build an inclusive and collaborative safety culture in Artelia. It was an interesting day which really put the spotlight on recognising personal and project health and safety risks and how we can put effective controls in place to prevent harm from occurring.” said Paul Burrows, Artelia UK’s Head of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality.
