Artelia is working with Morgans Hotels Group, the operator and the owner’s representative on refurbishment of the 150 bedrooms and the public areas of the Sanderson Hotel. In both areas the refurbishment aims to keep the character of the hotel and maintain the requirements of English Heritage.
The Sanderson Hotel was one of the first boutique style hotels built in London. The hotel was converted from the Sanderson Textiles headquarters and showrooms building. The building is Grade II* listed as it was the first building in London to have a curtain wall exterior when it was built in 1958. The hotel conversion was completed in April 2000 inspired by Ian Schrager and Philippe Starck
Once the model room was approved the refurbishment was phased to minimise room displacement during the construction period. Similarly refurbishment of the public areas have been phased to minimise the impact on hotel operations.
