Congratulations are in order for two of our project teams, The Foundry, Social Justice Centre and Torquay House have received Commendations at this year’s Civic Trust Awards.
The Civic Trust Awards, established in 1959, recognise projects that demonstrate high quality architecture, sustainability, accessibility and make a positive cultural, social or economic contribution to the community.
The Foundry, Social Justice Centre
The Foundry, Social Justice Centre is a new block which houses gallery-accessed office space against the street, while framing a top-lit atrium against the back wall of the old building. Artelia provided a multitude of differing services to help bring the project in on time and on budget, including, cost management, employer’s agent and project safety.
Torquay House
The London Hostels Association Ltd (LHA), a Registered Charity needed a new hostel to replace an outdated facility on the Harrow Road. Artelia assisted LHA with quantity surveying and project management services for Torquay House, a new a 12-storey 166 micro-flat building on a shared ‘island‘ site adjacent to the elevated section of the A40 Westway, entirely surrounded by busy London roads.
