Over the summer, Artelia’ Shell team has been proud to deliver a great diversity and inclusion campaign by Shell entitled ‘Project Pride’ – temporarily transforming four Shell forecourt canopies with Pride’s rainbow colours to increase LGBTQ visibility and show support.
The four specially selected UK forecourts are Shell Windsor, Shell Durham, Shell Preston Park in Brighton and Shell Phoenix in Manchester. The timing of the canopy take-over installs coincided with key Pride events happening locally. The events were also supported by Shell partners, Costa and Little Waitrose.
Artelia’s Shell HSSE Manager, Phil Ruffels, was responsible for co-ordinating design, signage contractors and safe installs and removals of the canopy wraps, as the installations involved mainly working at height, requiring a significant focus on safety.
