ANG Artelia Group is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Site Manager to join the team working on fascinating projects, largely in the heritage sector, where quality and attention to detail are key. ANG is part of the Artelia Group, a global, multi-disciplinary consultancy employing over 7,000 people across 30 countries.

ANG Artelia Group comprises the following three divisions:

  • Management Contracting, providing a complete service in the restoration, alteration and refurbishment of historic buildings.
  • Insurance Recovery which specifically operates in the recovery and restoration of historic and high net worth buildings following substantial damage.
  • Chartered Quantity Surveying – providing traditional Quantity Surveying services with a specialism in the repair and restoration of historic and listed buildings.

Purpose of Role

You will be responsible for the successful delivery of prestigious projects ranging from £1m to £5M) – restoring, reinstating, refurbishing, building and fitting them out to the highest standard of design and quality.

The position reports to ANG’s Director of Construction.

Key areas of responsibility

  • Working with key stakeholders, identify risks and opportunities to optimize project delivery.
  • Assess the buildability of proposed design and ensure the design team produce feasible designs within the required timeframes.
  • Prepare, analyse, monitor, and report on detailed construction programmes to identify risks and opportunities to optimize project delivery.
  • Setup and chair monthly site meetings with stakeholders to manage risks and meet programme deadlines
  • Ensure an excellent standard of Health and Safety on site
  • Maintain quality control procedures.
  • Ensure all snagging and finishing is carried out to a high standard
  • Prepare monthly site status reports, highlighting projects challenges and resolutions, to include: variations, critical path changes, RFI Management issues, subcontractor non-performance issues, snagging/defects management progress, site resource requirements, site training requirements, programme changes, variations to RFI management.
  • Set targets and KPIs for project performance.

Candidate profile

  • SMSTS qualified and either working towards or have achieved MCIOB.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the management of historic building.
  • Advanced Programming Skills.
  • Expert in phasing and handover.
  • Strong commercial awareness.
  • Strong decision-making ability and problem-solving skills.
  • Have a collaborative leadership approach.
  • Able to work to programmed deadlines.
  • Substantial experience of H & S Management, including method statements, current legislation and be able to clearly communicate H & S requirements to ensure that all requirements/systems are followed.
  • Ability to implement and drive quality management systems.
  • Hold a current driving license.

Location and Benefits

Various sites throughout England (must be willing to stay in overnight accommodation/travel).
