Costa Roastery & Headquarters
Costa has invested £38m in a new Headquarters and high-tech Roasting and Distribution facility in Basildon, Essex to support its international growth. The award-winning project was delivered by Artelia from initial design to construction management of the complex fit-out. The building is one of the most sustainable in the world achieving BREEAM Outstanding, with a rooftop solar photovoltaic system that produces electricity to power the roasters and heat the building. Over 45,000 tonnes of coffee a year is produced on site, with offices, boardroom, new product development areas all designed to overlook the roasters, placing a spotlight on the coffee-making process.
