Delivering a new creative destination for London

Greenwich Peninsula is a mixed-use develoment by Knight Dragon, which will provide over 15,000 new homes, a new tube station, schools, offices, health services and public spaces.

Artelia is working with Knight Dragon on a central feature of its Peninsula masterplan – the Design District – a development of 16 excitingly bespoke buildings providing attractive and affordable workspaces for creative industries. The complex also includes a public square, courtyard, food market and a roof-top basketball court.

Developing the cost plan for the site was not entirely straightforward. The client’s budget is based on the net lettable area of the buildings. However, with eight separate architects, creating 16 uniquely shaped and formed buildings the challenge was to maximise use of the floor plan without compromising the design intent.
