Magazine London
Magazine London is a huge 3,205 sq m steel framed building developed by Knight Dragon, situated on the banks of the River Thames at Greenwich Peninsula, designed to host conferences, music, arts, fashion, cultural events and brand launches.
The purpose-built space merges an all-black look, including black polished concrete floors, to create a high-quality urban/industrial look. The concrete slab involved one of London’s largest concrete pours, taking place over four days. The 11 month programme from design concept to handover was exceedingly fast-track. With events booked for September, collaboration was key to handing over the building on time at the start of August. Amazingly though, the building is only semi-permanent and will be in use for 8-10 years, before being replaced with housing.
