PROJECT - Heritage, Arts & Culture

National Museum of the Royal Navy

Conserving, interpreting and displaying Britain’s naval heritage

The National Museum of the Royal Navy (NMRN) is dedicated to telling the story of the service that sculpted the history, culture and the people of Great Britain. Artelia has worked with NMRN on a host of fascinating projects from the new Sea More Gallery at Portsmouth to the conservation, display and interpretation of World War I battleship, HMS Caroline in Belfast.

Another of our current projects involves the restoration of World War II Landing Craft Tank 7074. We have moved her from Birkenhead Docks to Portsmouth, and are now constructing a 200 foot long cantilevered canopy, basin and interpretative displays for the refurbished ship to be sited outside the D-Day Story in Southsea. Her fascinating journey from D-Day hero to Liverpool nightclub is recorded in this short video.
