Norwich Castle
Artelia’s heritage project and cost managers helped Norfolk Museums Service secure a £9.2 million grant from the Heritage Fund for Norfolk Museum Services’ Gateway to Medieval England project.
Artelia is now delivering the scheme to transform and make more accessible the Castle’s Grade I listed Norman Castle Keep. The original floor layout is being reinstated and a new state-of-the-art mezzanine gallery is being created to house a new British Museum medieval collection. Visitors will be able to immerse themselves in the sights and sounds of King Henry I’s lavish Castle and a unique viewing platform at battlement level will offer stunning views of medieval and present-day Norwich.
