Largely dating from the early 17th century, Sydenham House in Devon, was severely damaged by fire requiring an extensive programme of property insurance reinstatement. The extent of the loss from fire damage included: destroying large areas of the roof, the properties historic Queen Anne gallery and with extensive smoke and water damage to the remainder of the building.

ANG Artelia Group managed the meticulous insurance reinstatement from first response to handover of the restored mansion.
The initial fast response to loss included making the Grade 1 listed building secure and safe. Then followed a programme of works to remove, dry out and repair historic fabric including wood panelling, the restoration of 17th century plasterwork using silicone moulds to reproduce the decoration.
All services were renewed, including the provision of a biomass boiler housed in a nearby barn.
ANG as main contractor, coordinated all aspects of the reinstatement from design, costing through to procurement and management of the specialist trades and crafts. The client was delighted with the care and attention shown to them and their precious home throughout the project.
