Insurance reinstatement of fire damaged thatch, Portadown, Ireland
The private owners of suffered fire and subsequent water damage to their listed thatched roof. The family house is a single-storey lobby entry house built around 1642.
Firefighters doused the fire and saturated the thatch roof, the walls and all internal rooms of the building, and post-event, the house was open to the elements and there was significant ingress of rain which saturated the main living areas and contents within.
ANG Artelia acted as Cost Consultant and Project Manager to reinstate their historic roof and parts of the chimney which were damaged. The project was complete within the year.
