Shell’s first Electric Vehicle only hub

In January 2022, Shell officially launched its first EV charging hub in the UK on the Fulham Road in London, where petrol and diesel pumps at an existing fuel station have been replaced with ultra-rapid charge points. A global pilot, this is the first time the company has converted one of its existing sites to cater solely for electric vehicles.

Artelia UK was responsible for project managing the new EV hub from early concept design, through planning, safe demolition and removal of the old forecourt to construction management of the new hub and the installation of the nine high-powered, ultra-rapid 175kW charge points.

To reflect the longer dwell time of customers waiting for their EVs to charge, the hub also offers a comfortable seating area, free superfast WiFi, high-end washroom, a Costa Coffee lounge and an extensive Little Waitrose & Partners shop.
