The Warburg Institute is part of the University of London’s School of Advanced Study and is dedicated to the study of cultural history and the role of images in culture. The heart of the Institute is a library containing some 380,000 volumes, photographic collection and archive. The Warburg Building has not been substantially updated since it opened in 1958, so a major refurbishment, remodelling and extension project is underway to rationalise space usage, improve services infrastructure, environmental performance and safeguard the Collection through better climate control, storage and security. As Cost Manager, Artelia is working with The Warburg and design team to develop a financially viable scheme and manage costs across the project.
