Remodelling and refurbishment of the Bedser Stand players’ changing rooms

Surrey County Cricket Club continues to invest in making the Kia Oval the UK’s largest cricket stadium, with the recent completion of the men’s and women’s changing-room suite on Level 2 of the Bedser Stand. Artelia delivered the full remodelling and refurbishment between September 2024 and March 2025. The project provides state-of-the-art changing, dining and recovery spaces that are fully operational for the 2025 season.

Appointed early in design development, Artelia supplied integrated Cost Management and Employer’s Agent services, overseeing budget control, procurement strategy, contract administration and risk management through to handover. A phased construction plan protected match-day operations, while disciplined cost monitoring ensured the scheme was delivered on programme.

The completed suite offers equal, world-class facilities for both men’s and women’s squads and reinforces Surrey County Cricket Club’s commitment to high-performance environments.

Artelia has provided Cost Management, Employer’s Agent, Project and Programme Management, Quantity Surveying and CDM Advisory services across a series of projects including One Oval Square, the Oval Cricket Ground Hotel and the Peter May Stand.
