After a multimillion-pound investment and over two years of meticulous upgrades and conservation, The Maison Dieu (Dover Town Hall) has officially reopened its doors to the public – for the first time in its 800-year history, permanently and free to enter, seven days a week!
Artelia UK was honoured to serve as Technical Project Manager for our esteemed client, Dover District Council, on this landmark heritage project. It’s been a privilege to help restore this incredible building to its former glory.
Visitors can now explore the breathtaking interiors designed by William Burges, admire beautifully restored wall paintings and armoury, and experience the magic of stained glass windows as they shift with the light.
This transformation marks a major milestone for Dover – enhancing its cultural offering and welcoming residents and tourists alike to experience one of its most historic gems.
